Event Centre Satama (Satama Areena) opens its doors with a versatile lineup of star performers in City Port of Kotka (Kantasatama). The grand opening celebrations will take place from August 25th to September 1st, 2023, featuring three concerts. During the opening week, there will be performances by BEHM, Anssi Kela, Club For Five, UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, Gasellit, and F.
On Friday, August 25th, 2023, BEHM and Anssi Kela will be performing at Satama Areena.
On Saturday, August 26th, 2023, the Sataman Tango concert at Satama Areena will cater to a more mature taste with internationally acclaimed performers Club For Five and UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra. The virtuosic vocal ensemble Club For Five is one of the internationally respected a cappella groups. UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra is a professional orchestra in the jazz and rhythm music field, whose repertoire spans from jazz to soul and classical music, combining the elements of new and old in a surprising way. The Sataman Tango concert will feature beloved classic songs with an experiential twist, paying tribute to Kotka’s history as a harbor and jazz city.
On Friday, September 1st, 2023, the grand finale of the opening week lineup will be the Satama Areena x Meteli concert, welcoming both students and underground rap enthusiasts. The evening will begin with the Emma Award-winning rap n’ b artist F, followed by the headline act, the melodious and modern rhythm music powerhouse Gasellit.
